I have created some ads for our Ballroom Showcase on March 30th. I am putting them here below so you can retrieve the files and use it to post it on your Instagram, Facebook, etc where you can let friends and family know about it. Feel free to use these files as you see fit!

There has been much texting back and forth about how to rehearse for the Movie Medley and have it performance ready by the 30th of March. The team performing it is: I tried to keep you in spots you know and with partners you've danced with before. I also put Bingham Team members as a priority since they will already be here that night anyway--that is why some of last year's team is not being asked to do it. This year's team will run it several times before then, so they will have it fresh in their minds. But I would like to set up THREE dates to rehearse this routine. Try to make it to AT LEAST one of them, or all if you can. Also, if possible get together with your partner and run it on your own.
Monday, March 13th - 4:30 - 5:30 at Elk Ridge Dance Room Monday, March 20th - 4:30 - 5:30 at Elk Ridge Dance Room Tuesday, March 28th -- 4:30 - 5:30 at Elk Ridge Dance Room Thursday, March 30th -- 6:00 - 6:15 at Elk Ridge Auditorium (this will just be a run-through--no time for more! Other teams will want the stage. Please comment below on availability issues. I have just gotten the information for the Bingham High Ballroom Auditions for any 9th graders who would like to try out! Here is the flyer and also the Audition Packet you will need. Auditions are March 10--luckily no performances scheduled that day!
I have re-worked the movie medley to make it suitable for 4 couples. We will perform this on the 22nd of February. Krista will be the alternate girl, but will dance it at another performance. Please study your spot if you are in this--we won't get a chance to actually work it until February so it will have to come together VERY quickly! Had a sudden yen to find an old video I hadn't seen in years...and I found it! So I thought I'd just share it to prove I actually knew how to dance once, a long, long time ago. This is 1995, when I was a junior in high school. We went to a competition at BYU with a bunch of friends. In between the competition heats they have "general dances" where anyone in the audience can go dance. This is me and my partner Quinn. There's a little bit of Swing and then some West Coast, which I think we competed either the day before or the day after this was filmed. Sorry about the crappy quality...it was the 90's. I hope you are all feeling more grateful for your convenient camera phones that can record every important moment of your life. Mine are trapped on crappy VHS tapes with bad tracking...Enjoy! (What's that? You don't know what "tracking" is? Google it. GOOGLSLAP! BOOM!) Ok, I'm posting each video TWICE. The first, unedited video shows the dance from start to finish as you danced it. The SECOND one shows the same video, but with awesome helpful notes from yours truly. If I point you out specifically, especially if its something you need to fix, don't be offended. Take the note and improve it. You guys are freakin' rocking this thing! Can't wait to see it with the basket toss! We will be working the crap out of that on Monday! Remember--ballroom team does NOT go to play practice on Monday! You have ballroom! 7th Grade ShowUnedited VideoCritiques Video8th Grade ShowUnedited VideoCritiques Video9th Grade ShowUnedited VideoCritiques Video7th Grade Show Watch yourself and make notes about what you can change! This one only has the second half of the routine, though. We will film it again on Friday in the auditorium. 9th Grade Show 8th Grade Show |
