This video shows some of the choreography from today. Study it closely so you don't forget it! There is no sound or counts--sorry about that!
We have been given the opportunity to perform at Back to School Night, which is a great opportunity to showcase the ballroom program and increase enrollment in our Fall and Spring workshops. Of course, this early in the year, we hardly have anything to show. So, I have decided to do a 4-couple Michael Jackson routine from last year. Those who were on team last year will be performing, and Kaisia has agreed to come dance it as the 4th girl, since I only have three girls returning. The partnerships will be as follows: Ammon & Abbey Chris & Kaisia Christian & Amanda Seth & MacKenzie I am still waiting to hear back from Ammon and Abbey as to whether they can do it. If they cannot, I will see if any of the Sophomores from last year's team can help out, but I prefer to have this year's team dance it. Below is the video that shows the altered formations--study it VERY closely, as some areas are quite different. For the circle, the girls will all slide inward, and they will all do the sausage roll going outward. We will have a rehearsal for just these four couples on August 18th at 1:00--one hour after our 1st rehearsal for the 15-16 team ends. This is still tentative until I have gotten into contact with Abbey and Ammon, but plan on it unless I tell you otherwise. Also, please let me know if you have any costume problems--hopefully you all still have your costumes from last year! So, I was preparing for our "Play Day" on August 11th, and decided to put together an updated video of the tricks we may be doing in the routine. Emphasis on the "MAY" since things always change once we hit choreography. We might find they don't fit, that everyone can't master it, or that something just works better. So don't get too attached to any of these moves! Still, on the 11th we will be trying out some of these moves. It would be a lot easier during choreography if there area couple or two that know how to do each trick. Anyway, check it out! |
