I'm gonna post them here as I complete them! I wonder who will be last? I am SO THRILLED that so many of last year's team is willing to come back and perform our Viennese Waltz for the Ballroom Showcase on March 31st! I know you are all super busy and trying to organize everyone's schedules will be really hard. Here are all the possible dates that will work for me. Please comment below if any of these days are absolutely non-negotiable can't be changed no way dates for you. Then I will pick the ones that work for most of us. I will adjust the routine to the number of couples we can get for three of the same rehearsals. Friday, February 26th - There's no school this day. Not sure if you have plans, not even sure if Elk Ridge is open. But it's a possibility. If Elk Ridge isn't open, we'd have to get a church. Tuesday, March 8th - 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. at ERMS Thursday, March 17th - 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. at ERMS (It's my anniversary and my daughter's birthday that week, so I can't do it on the 15th.) Friday, March 18th - 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. at ERMS Tuesday, March 22nd - 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. at ERMS Tuesday, March 29th - 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. at ERMS I still haven't heard from a few of the girls, (Ros, Sydney, Abby, and Allie) so unless your partner is willing to dance it, you can't be in it! I REALLY want at least 6 couples though! Right now the partnerships that are set are: Kaisia & Chris Mats & Abbey M Seth & Anna (though I haven't actually told Seth yet...but dude. He'll totally do it.) Ethan & Amanda OK! PLEASE COMMENT ON YOUR AVAILABILITY ON THIS BLOG POST. Its much easier than keeping track of all your texts! Study the routine and try to remember as much as possible! OH--and I'm assuming you all still have skirts? Trouble is--Abbey M doesn't have one. So she'll need to borrow if there's a girl who chooses not to do it. Or, we could ask Ashley to ship hers from Kamus (kidding!) or, we could just do the stereotype costumes. Alright, here they are. As you watch these, ask yourself--are these performance ready? What can I do to make my part better? When am I off beat, out of sync, out of line? Come ready on Saturday to improve every area you can--we need to get this thing looking a little less sloppy--particularly in the areas where we've changed choreography. Watch all three--even if you aren't in it. The comments might prove useful for you. Make sure you study this well BEFORE our Saturday rehearsal. We only have one left!!! 7th Grade Show8th Grade Show9th Grade ShowHi everyone. I've been doing a lot of thinking since watching you audition for the talent show, and I've realized a few things. I wanted to share my thoughts with you and prepare you for my direction over the next week. First of all, nothing will change for our Tuesday performance. You will dance it as is. However, on Wednesday we will be making a few minor but necessary changes. Watching it with new eyes as other adults see it for the first time, its suddenly clear what we need to do to make this thing great. The success of this ballroom program at ERMS relies a great deal on you guys absolutely blowing everyone away at the talent show--and...well, we're just not there yet. The auditions was...not the best. Partly because we're all mentally checked out after the break, (I know I am!), half of your are sick, and partly because there are things that just don't work and need to be fixed. But this I do know--that routine is not quite performance ready, and it needs to improve a great deal before it can truly live up to its potential. You have all done wonderfully--many of the problems are my fault--mainly that I took too long to get the skirts ready, and we just need more practice with them! We will also be having a Saturday morning rehearsal on the 20th. I am still working out the details of where. Please let me know if you will not be able to be there. I know Ammon cannot be there, but he's the only one I've heard of so far. So prepare for that rehearsal--I will give you details of where when I have them. Believe me, I'd rather not have it. But guys--WE NEED IT.Without it, you have basically one more rehearsal before you perform for the talent show. Its just not enough time. Below is the new video with formations. Watch it for some of the changes. Here is the list of things that we will be working on:
Finally...SHAKE IT OFF! I know there is an inversion and the air's terrible and sometimes you don't feel good and play is over and what do I have for homework and what was Mrs. Rees saying? But...you've been working for this show since AUGUST. I want to see you ROCK. THIS. THING. And I know you can. Each and every one of you is AMAZING, and so talented, and you have come such a long way over the last few months. We have so much to look forward to--and I want you to go out there and just know that you are freaking amazing and everyone watching will wish they were up there with you. YOU CAN DO IT!!! See you Tuesday!!! |
